The over production of goods caused workers to get fired in order for the company to remain. People can not buy things from the companies. Inturn, they went bankrupt. -
dust bowl (end 1939)
The dust bowl effect of many deaths. Dust and wind got together and formed many dust storms. cattle suffocated, sand was in food and drinks, bugs moved into the houses. winds got up to more than 70 miles per hour! -
stock market crash (oct 24 - oct 29)
People were trying to get their savings from the bank, but the bank didn't have the money. People could not pay loans and a lot of people lost their homes. -
new deal
The new deal programs were implemented by FDR. (Franklin D. Roosevelt) The main purpose of these programs was to get people back to work and build the economy back up. -
world war 2 ( end september 2, 1945 )
The United States wanted to remain neutral, but they were forced into it with the Allies. thousands of Texans fought and 33 of them were awarded the medal of honor. During the war, many jobs opened up for people to support the war and rebuild the economy.
