    Magna Carta

    The Magna Carta set King John and all of England's sovereigns within a rule of law. This would effect the future because it made the person in power abide by a set of rules that he could not brake. Before then, the king could do whatever he wanted without reproductions.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Signed on the Mayflower, the Mayflower Compact was the first framework of government used in Americas territory. This effects the future because without this first framework of a government, the government could not have started to improve and build itself.
  • English Bill of Rights

    The English Bill of Rights had a huge effect on the american colonies , the biggest effects being: no armies should be raised in peacetime, no taxes could be levied, without authority of parliament. this effected the future by providing a basis of which the articles of confederation would be built upon.
  • Start of French Indian War

    The French Indian War because it represents the beginning of our country. It effected the future because it started Americans on the path to independence.

    The end of the French Indian War was important because it started Americans on the path to independence.
  • The Sugar Act

    The sugar Act was a tax put on sugar to the colonies to pay for Britain armies. Which in turn started getting the Americans angry at Great Britain.
  • The Stamp Act

    The stamp Act was Great Britain putting a tax on stamps so that the colonists would have to pay more for everything, giving Britain more money to pay for her armies.
  • Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act was to force the colonists to quarter Britain troops in their homes and feed them. This did not go well well with the colonists and angered a lot of them.
  • The Declaratory Act

    The Declaration Act accompanied by the repeal of the Stamp Act stated that the taxing authority was the same in the colonies as it was in Great Britain.
  • The Townshed Act

    The Townshend Acts imposed taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies, which only angered the colonists.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston massacre was when a squad of British troops opened fire upon civilians after they were throwing snowballs at a guard.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea party was when the colonists were tired of Great Britannia tea taxes, and when confronted with boats that demanded pay for tea, they snuck on the boats dressed as Indians and threw all the tea overboard.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    These acts were harsh laws passed by the British parliament. They ere meant to punish the Americans for the Boston Tea Party.
  • First Continental Congress

    This was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies early in the american revolution.
  • Start of the Revolutionary War

    The revolutionary war was important because it was a war against Great Britain herself, and would end up proving that the colonies were better of on their own without Britain.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was extremely important because it is what was written to claim the colonies independents from Great Britain. This effected the future because no colonists were under Britain control any more.
  • Articles of Confederation

    The Articles of Confederation was the first constitution of the United States, which set the ground rules until the actually constitution was created.
  • The Rebelions

    During the years up to the signing of the constitution there were many uprisings and rebellions due to the inflation and the banks taking a farmers land and homes.
  • Inflation in the United States

    After spending a ton of money on guns and munition and whatnot for the colonists to fight Britain, the colonies were hit with a massive inflation.
  • End of The Revolutionary War

    With the war over the colonies started making money again, as France had given them a lot of guns and munitions, they were able to re-amp their economy.
  • Annapolis Convention

    The Annapolis Convention was a national political convention at Mann's Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland, in which twelve delegates from five states was held to discuss some issues of interstate trade.
  • Shays' Rebellion

    Shays' rebellion was one of the rebellions leading up to the constitution after his land and home was taken by the banks due to the high inflation.
  • Constitutional Convention

    The constitutional convention was the convention in which the constitution was written and signed.
  • Signing of the Constitution

    With the constitution written, all 39 delegates of the thirteen colonies had to sign the constitution in agreement that they would all fallow and live under it.
