The Alamo
In the fight of Texas trying to get independence from mexico.The Mexican army came and all the troops flee to the Alamo. Were they held out for thirteen days then they were eventually overpowered. Texas won the battle of independence later that year. my image show a man standing over a bunch of Mexican troops fighting them of there walls. -
Brigham young
Brigham young took over the head role for the Mormons when Joseph smith dead. Brigham young lead the Mormons to salt lake city Utah before the us owned it. Brigham young moved them there so they could live in peace and no one would bother the Mormons and they would be able to practice their religion in peace.Brigham young lead one of the best moves to the west ever said scientist .These picture is of Brigham young the second Mormon leader. -
The Donner party
The Donner party started in Springfield IL with 90 immigrants on their way to California. They took a shorter route and it took a longer then they expected. They got on a mountain and when they did they got traped in the winter and they had to resort to eating hyde and people. this picture shows a man trying to get the animals going in a really bad winter storm. -
The Mexican war
The Mexican war was the first war fought on foreign land . James K Polk said that we had a manifest destiny to do which was to spread out west and to take this land. so the war began and bye the time it was over the us owned Nevada, Utah, California, and Texas. My picture is two army firing at point blank range and its the us and Mexican arm. -
Gold rush
The gold rush started when a man was in a northeastern river and found gold. Then other people heard that and headed out west and left their homes and grabbed everything they could in hopes do strike gold. The gold rush was not very successful because there was not as much gold as assumed from other people such as miner or gold paners .They picture shows a camp being set up so they can pan for gold.
