This marked the end of the Byzantine empire. This also had a major effect on Europe be cause they now had no true access to the Silk Roads. The Ottomans and Europeans did not always get along due to their religions. -

This eventually led to th Columbian Exchange. This allwoed people to trade goods that were not originally from certain areas. This caused different empires to grow and others to end completly. -

Slave trade to Latin America Begins
Slave trade to Latin America and the carribean began signifcantly in 1501, led by the Spanish and Portugese. The slave trade allowed for a constant influx of workers to support the colonial economies in the Americas and therfore supported europe. This was an important event because it initiated the trade of slaves that would support the colonies for nearly three centuries. -

Martin Luther begins protestant reformation
Martin Luther was a catholic priest who believed that the roman catholic church was abusing it's power. He famously wrote the ninety-five thesis which critiqued the catholic leaders and thier policies. This caused a temporary collapse in the papacy and led to the creation of several new churches, including the lutherans, led by Martin Luther. -

The trade of silver had a significant impact on the entire world. The discovery of silver in certain parts of the America's by the Europeans let them trade silver for products they desired in China. -

This period of Japanese government was led by the Shoguns, and used a fedualist system of government and economy. This included a strict class hierarchy that involved serfs as the main class. This period of time was a period of isolation for Japan with policies limiting outside interaction, especially with western european nations. -
Jamestown establish as first permanent English settlement in North America
This event had many effects on the Native Americans and England. Many of the natives in the area traded with the settlers or died from European disease. The settlers had trouble at first but eventually more English colonies were established. -

Began as a war between the protestants and the catholics, but eventually evolved in to one of europe's longest and most devistating conflicts. The fighting began in germany with either side calling on other countries for assitance, which resulted in large scale conflict between nations. This caused the devistation of entire areas of people and disrupted trade. However, these conflicts marked the end of european religious wars and politically changed european nations. -

The Qing Dynasty was china's last imperial dynasty and lasted all the way in to the 20th century. The dynasty focused on restoring chinese culture and eliminating western influences. It also saw the return of confucian ideas and policies. -

Peter the Great influenced Russia through the reforms he enacted. He helped develop russia to compete with the neighboring european nations by encouraging technological advancements. He mainly concentated on developing commerce and industry to compete with european culture.
