Shelled marine invertebrates began to appear and the iconic arthropods of the Cambrian were the trilobites, which left a huge number of fossils. -
Ordovician
During the Ordovician period a rich variety of marine life flourished in the vast seas and the first primitive plants began to appear on land. Echinoderms appeared, brachiopods increase, and trilobites decline. -
Siliurian
sea levels and temperatures rose steadily. -
Devonian
Also known as "the age of fish" the first amphibians, the first sharks, the first plants with roots, leaves and stomata. Despite such significant innovations, the Devonian is best known for its diversity and abundance of fish. Not only did fish with cartilage first appear (such as sharks), but fish with bony skeletons developed and it is this type of fish which today comprises a majority of our modern fish. -
Mississippian period
common and main ocean animal was the brachiopod, and forests and swamps cover much of the land causing many new amphibians to form and begin life. -
Pennsylvanian
Widespread swamps laid down the thick beds of dead plant material that today constitute most of the world's coal. the southern hemishpere underwent a series of ice ages during this period. Giant cockroaches and dragonflies are now common -

Jurassic
tyrannosaurusJurassic time period was a time of dinosours and the most famous one is the T-Rex or tyrannosaurus Rex. Many large reptiles covered the earth but ran into a mass exctinction possibly from a meritior or volcanoes, the climate was warmer at this time period. -
