Time Of Each Plane Departure
Around 7:59am, the first flight a.k.a American Airlines Flight 11 took off from Boston’s Logan International Airport en route to Los Angeles. The second flight, The United Airline Flight 175 took off at 8:14am from Boston and was also headed to Los Angeles. -
The Planes have been hijacked
Around 8:19am, the people on board for flight 11 decided to take action and alert ground personnel that the plane has been hijacked. American Airlines immediately notifies the FBI. -
United Airlines Flight 93 has been hijacked.
Around 8:41am,United Airlines Flight 93 takes off from Newark International Airport en route to San Francisco. It was said that it was scheduled to depart at 8:00am along with the other hijacked flights. -
The North Tower has been hit.
At 8:46am, tragedy happens. Mohammed Atta ,and the rest of the hijacked passengers in American Airlines flight 11 crash the plane into floors 93-99 of the North Tower in the World Trade Center -
President Bush has been notified.
Around 8:50am, President Bush has been alerted by The White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, that a plane has struck The World Trade Center. During the tragedy, President Bush was visiting an elementary school. -
Flights have been grounded.
At 9:42am, flights have been grounded in or over the United States and were told to do so by the FAA. About 4,500 planes are guided to airports in Canada and the United States over the next two-and-a-half hours. -
South Tower Collapses.
At 9:59am, The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses which is 56 minutes after United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into it. -
Flight 93 crashes.
At 10:07 am, Flight 93 crash into a field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. What was suspicious about this was that the plane had "disappeared". -
The North Tower Collapses.
The World Trade Center’s North Tower collapses at 10:28 am, 102 minutes after being struck by Flight 11. -
Bush takes action.
At 8:30 pm, President Bush announces to the nation by mentioning this horrible tragedy of 9/11 as “evil, despicable acts of terror” and mentioning that this is the time America should stand together and stronger so they can win the war against terrorism. -
Bush's Bulllhorn Speech
Three days later after the 9/11 incident, Bush spoke at Ground Zero. He stood alongside one of the fire fighters, gave a speech with a bullhorn, and had said, "I can hear you!" President Bush mentions. "The rest of the world hears you! And the people – and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." -
War has been declared.
President Bush officially declares “War on Terror” which leads to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. -
The Second Tower is hit.
At 9:02am, Port Authority officials broadcast orders to start evacuating from the North and South towers. It was estimated about 10,000-14,000 people were in the process. At 9:03am, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower. At 9:37 am, Flight 77 crashed into the western facade of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
