Early work
1978, Tim worked at D.G. Nash Limited where he wrote typesetting software. -
First Job
Tim got a contract job as a software consultant in a company called CERN. He created the idea of sharing ideas quickly by a system called Enquire (this is similar to the world wide web). -
New Job
Started in a new job called John Pooles image computer systems. This gave him experience in computer networking. -
return to CERN
he went back to work at CERN with a permanent persition. -
Internet oppurtunity
Tim saw that he could join a company called CERN which is the largest internet node in Europe. -
Changing original idea
Tim Berners Lee and Robert Cailliau made changes to his original thoughts and ideas and created a software that enabled anyone to get information from the computer they were using this is the design of the World Wide Web. This was the first browser. -
First Website
First website was built at CERN and put online on the 6th August. -
50 web servers
In 1992 there were over 50 web servers in the world. -
Hits by 1993
By summer 1993 the site was getting 10 thousand hits a day. -
World Wide Web
1994, he became one of 6th members of the World Wide Web. They decided to improve the standards and allow anyone to be able to access freely.
