The French and Indian war had started because of a conflict in the larger war known as the 7 years war; between Britain and France. -
Sugar Act
The sugar act was a law that had been passed by the British, which had caused the foreign sugar to be refined. Imported so that any British growers from the West Indies, could get in the colonial market. -
Stamp Act
Another law of the British that was passed. The Stamp Act was exacted and the revenue from the American colonies. Imposing the stamp duty on newspapers and any of the legal and any of the commercial documents. The opposition had been led into where the act was repealed. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre started with a riot started by colonists. The British Captain Thomas Preston had ordered his men to stand guard outside in front the building in which where the Colonists were rioting. The colonists had not taken lightly to the situation and started throwing snowballs at the British Guards. Then it started the British Guard started firing into the crowd. In a result of that 5 colonists were killed and 3 were injured. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act is a law the was passed by Great Britain parliament; to reduce the large amount of tea that was held by British East India company; that was having financial trouble. So the law was to help keep the struggling British East India company survive. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a day when Colonists that had been disguised as Colonists had thrown a massive amount of chests filled with tea. The tea thrown went straight to the harbor and was made as a protest against the taxes the British made on tea. -
The Boston Port Act
Another law that was passed by the British was The Boston Port Act. This was the easiest to enforce of any of the 4 other acts. All the together the 4 acts are what is called the Coercive Acts. -
The Quartering Act 1774
The British Government had renewed the Quartering act, allowing any redcoats to stay in any American home privately if wanted. With what had happened with the Boston uproar, the British had demanded the American Home to house Redcoats if needed. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
The battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battle to lead to the Revolutionary War. To seize the military supplies and even the revolutionary arrests the British troops had to have moved from Boston towards what was known as Lexington and Concord. -
Battle of Ticonderoga
American Revolutionary Troops had captured a fort called Ticonderoga. This fort has saw more fighting because of the French and Indian war. The Battle of Ticonderoga was the first victory for the American of the American Revolutionary war. This would give Continental Army the needed weapons for other battles. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The first real great battle of the Revolution. Only after the American’s run out of gunpowder, the British had taken control and run the American’s from Breed’s Hill all the way to Bunker Hill. -
George Washington is named Commander in Chief
In Virginia, a revolutionary movement leader, George Washington; had been commissioned Commander in Chief, of the army from the United Colonies, of all and any forces and to raise by them. -

Author Thomas Paine had written Common Sense. Common Sense had advocated the independence, from Great Britain to the people that had lived within the 13 colonies. Paine had marshalled the political along with the moral arguments that had encouraged, the people of the 13 colonies to fight. -

The Declaration of Independence was written as a formal state, by Thomas Jefferson. This formal state was written for declaring the independence for the American Colonies away from the British’s rule. -

The Battle of Saratoga was a huge battle that was part of what is known as the Revolutionary war; fought in the northern new york state. General John Burgoyne surrendered to American Forces, which was a turning point for the battle. 5,895 troops from the British and Hessian had surrendered. -

Battle of Yorktown
The Revolutionary War’s last battle. Near the seacoast in Virginia, is where the Battle of Yorktown was being fought at. General George Washington had gotten his victory when British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington. -
General Cornwallis surrenders to Washington
General Cornwallis had led his beaten down troops toward the Virginia seacoast. Cornwallis was captured; 7,000 men from the British Fleet had gone to rescue him but it was too late. General Cornwallis had surrendered. -
Peace treaty is signed ending the American
The peace treaty was signed in Paris, France; by the representatives of King George the 3rd from Great Britain, and also the United States of America’s representatives; which had ended the Revolutionary War.
