Worcester was a case in which the Supreme Court vacated the conviction of Samuel Worcester and held that the Georgia criminal statute that prohibited non-Native Americans from being present on Native American lands without a license from the state was unconstitutional. President Jackson said that whatever John Marshall said he would go along with it. The courts ruling is that worcester is to be free. Georgia gave in after a couple months. -

In the south anger against the tariff increased. The Nullification Act was passed declaring the tariff illegal. The union threatened to secede or withdraw if they were threatened.
