It was a great dark age following the collapse of so many empires at the end of the bronze age. -

After the collapse not many places survived but the Phoenicians helped jump start the economy once again with the long distance trade. -

By the 7th century the Assyrians kept conquering into the Mediterranean getting into Egypt and taking the empire down. -
