Bob is a young and happy four year old who is going to preschool. He is learning how to play and interact with other children his age. In Erikson's third stage, Initiative versus guilt, the crisis is being given the opportunity to plan purposeful activities. If this opportunity is discouraged, Bob may develop a sense of guilt. Bob's close friends: Industry versus Inferiority
Bob is now nine years old. He is in elementary school and likes to hangout with his close group of friends. They aren't always nice to him. In Erikson's fourth stage, Industry versus Inferiority, the crisis is establishing a peer group which in hand will contribute greatly to Bob's self-esteem.

Bob is a junior in high school and is trying to figure out what he wants to do for the rest of his life.
