Thomas Kuhn
Thomas Kuhn graduated from Harvard in 1949 with a phD in physics. He switched from the concept of physics to the philosophy of science and he began teaching both history of sciences courses and philosophy courses at various institutions. -
Thomas Kuhn
After Kuhn published The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (SSR), he began researching scientific theories that are a set of models that can prove a scientific theory true. Thomas's new ideas caused a shift from the thoughts of scientific revolutions being referred to as paradigm changes, to now changes in the taxonomic structure of theories of science. He began also looking at specializations are causing people to think about one particular concept, not a broad concept of different ideas. -
Thomas Kuhn
The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (SSR) was a historical landmark in the history of science. This book is actually referred to as the most referenced book in social sciences. In this book, Kuhn states that science is a process of periodic revolutions which are called paradigm shifts, where a particular idea is transformed based on new information or knowledge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L70T4pQv7P8 -
Thomas Kuhn
P1–pre-paradigm phase that exists once,Theres no absolute theories just a bunch of incomplete ones
P2-Normal science begins &progress may discover anomalies(facts that are difficult to explain within the context of the existing paradigm) If they cant be solved or fixed, weaknesses in paradigm are shown
P3–If the paradigm cant fix anomalies, a crisis period occurs. If problem cant resolve, next phase happens
P4-Paradigm shift/scientific revolution. paradigm is reevaluated
P5– Post-Revolution
