On June 1st 1779 Jefferson became the second state governor of Virginia. As the revolutionary war progressed he moved the capital from Williamsburg to Richmod and ended up being forced out by future British plans for an attack. Jefferson ended up serving two terms as the governor of Virginia. -

Jefferson became the minister of France succeeding Benjamin Franklin. He was also the first U.S secretary of state at the smae time. He was minister from this date to 1789. -

Jefferson asked for funding for the Lewis and Clark expedition from the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean. The trips purpose was to inform the U.S about the west because no one had been over there . Also the purpose was to make maps. On the expedition they made allies with Native tribes. -
Louisianna purchase
Jeffersons biggest presidential accomplishment was buying the Louisianna territory. This doubled the size of the United States. The price was a great deal for only $15 million. -
His death
Thomas Jefferson died in 1826 at the age of 83. He died in Charlottesville Virginia.
