Massachusetts Colony
Founed by John Winthrop, Massachusetts was the first of the four New England colonies to be founded. Containing very rocky, poor soil and mountains, it is a terrible place to farm. It has the same economic ways as the rest of the New England colonies and was as well a Protestant colony. -
New Hampshire Colony
New Hampshire, founded by John Wheelwright was one of the first thirteen colonies(the third one) and was founded for religious freedom. It was Protestant along with most of the other colonies and had the same geography as the rest of the New England colonies and relied on lumber, fishing, shipbuilding, furs, etc for economic gains. -
Maryland Colony
Thanks to lord baltimore, Maryland colony was founded so that the Catholics had a place to escape from the Protestants who were getting attacked. It is the only of the first thirteen colonies to be a different religion besides Protestant. -
Rhode Island Colony
Founded by Roger Williams after getting kicked out of Massachusetts, he founded Rhode Island. They rely on the same economic values and geographical landforms as the rest of the New England colonies. It was as well a Protestant colony. -
Connecticut Colony
Founded by Thomas Hooker after getting out of Massachusetts, Connecticut was established. Relying on the same economy and geography as the rest of the four New England colonies, Connectict was the third of the four to be established. -
Deleware Colony
Founded by the Duke of York, Deleware was the first of the four Middle Colonies to be founded. It was also Protestant and had the same economic and geographical advantages of the other four. -
North Carolina Colony
Founded by the rich, the North Carolina colony has the same economic facilities as the rest of it. The geography along with the rest has rich thick soil, and was founded for religious freedom -
South Carolina Colony
Founded by the poor, the South Carolina colony seperated from North Carolina to create two different colonies. It is a protestant colony just like the rest, and contains the same conomic qualities and geography as the rest. -
New York Colony
Founded by the Duke of York, the New York Colony was one of the four Middle Colonies. They all contained the geographic advantages of having okay soil with ports. They were called the Bread Basket colonies for they made a lot of wheat products. They as well were Protestant and they had the same economic ways as the rest of the Middle Colonies. -
New Jersey Colony
Founded by William Penn who bought the colony from the Duke of York, New Jersey had some economic advantages such as lumber, agriculture, fishing, and shipbuilding. They had the same geographic landscapes as the rest of the Middle colonies and were also Protestant. -
Pennsylvania Colony
Pennsylvania founded by William Penn was the only Quaker colony. Having the same economic and geographical features as the rest of the three middle Colonies, it was the last of the four to be established. -
Georgia
Georgia, founded by James Oglethorpe was founded for prisoners who could escape and work for him as slaves. Containing the same agricultural aspects as the rest and geography along with religious views, it was the last colony of the first 13 to be formed.
