Roosevelt decided not to run in the 1908 election. After William Howard Taft's inaugural address, Roosevelt left for Africa with his son. Him and his son together killed 17 lion, 11 elephant, and 20 rhinoceros. After the safari, he left for England to attend the funeral of King Edward VII. Then he made his way to Norway to accept his Nobel Peace Prize for his part in ending the Russo- Japanese War. He returned in June, 1910. -
