The Allies decided they need an organization to keep peace in countries at war. Canada has its own place in the UN. Because of Canada's involvement in the UN and it's peacekeeping mission, Canada gain its reputation as the peacekeeping country. -

Short for "The North Atlantic Treaty Organization". The main countries part of NATO are: Great Britain, France, America, and Canada. Their purpose is to form a mutual defense against attacks from external parties. -

Canada was part of the UN Army. Their goal was to prevent communism from spreading. -
Korean War Ends
Many Canadian soldiers suffered during the war. By the end, 312 died, 1,216 injured, 1 MIA, and 32 POW. -
Creation of the WARSAW Pact
The Communists' response to Decomcracy's NATO. If NATO were the Avengers, the WARSAW Pact would be the Dark Avengers. -
Vietnam War Begins
Washington requests from its allies to send them their troops. Austrailia, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, and Philippines all sent their troops. However, both Great Britain and Canada declined their requests. -
Lester Pearson Diffuses the Suez Crisis
Canada's Lester Pearson was tasked with the duty to solve the Suez Crisis. It was the first time the UN soldiers to not shoot, but keep peace instead. -
Berlin Wall is Built
Canada was on Democracy's side and therefore did not like the idea of trapping the East Berliners. Canada was part of the Berlin Airlift and gave supplies to the East Berliners. -
The Cuban Missile Crisis
Canada was scared of the Cuban Missile Crisis because they were geographically in the middle of the USSR and the US. They were at the risk of being hit by a nuclear bomb. -
The Vietnam War Ends
The end of the Vietnam War made a substantial Vietnamese Community in Canada; mainly Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. -
