William Henry Harrison (a Whig) runs for Presidency with John Tyler. Their slogan is ¨Tippecanoe and Tyler too¨ Harison wins big with a huge majority. -
Harrison dies after bitter cold inaguration day.
During Harrisons inaguration, he insists on not wearing a hat or coat. 32 days later, he dies of pnemonia in office. John Tyler is the first vice persident to become the president due to the presidents death. -

John Tyler vetoes many Whig favored bills, and the Whig party eventually ¨expells¨ him from the Whigs. Every one of his cabinet members resigned, except for one. -
Clay looses Election of 1844 to James K. Polk
Whig supporters begin voting based on region, not party. This may explain why Whig Henry Clay looses to Democratic James Polk. -
