    Deportations of Jews began
    Germans deported massive numbers of Jews. 250,000 Jewish Ghetto inhabitants were deported or killed.
  • Jewish Fighting Organisation established

    Jewish Fighting Organisation established
    The Jewish Fighting Organisation was established. It was formed by a surviving group of Jews. It was called the Z.O.B. This was the Polish name for Zydowska Organizacja Bojowa. (This translates to Jewish Fighting Organisation.) The Z.O.B was led by a 23-year old whose name was Mordeca Anielewicz. He issued an announcement calling for the Jewish people to resist going to the railroad cars.

    When the German Troops tried to get more ghetto inhabitants and deport them, they were fired upon by the Warsaw ghetto fighters.
  • Jews slaughtered

    Jews slaughtered
    The Germans slaughtered 1,000 Jews in result of the Jews resisting. 5,000-6,500 Jews were deported or killed. Further deportations were discontinued after this. The Jewish Fighting Organisation unites, plans strategies and builds underground bunkers and tunnels and roof-top passages.

    Warsaw Ghetto uprising
    The Warsaw Ghetto uprising was caused by German troops and police entering the Ghetto and attempting to take the surviving Ghetto people away for deportation. However, the Jewish Fighting Organisation were ready to resist the Germans; they had barricaded themselves in buildings and bunkers. Germans started to burn down the ghettos to force the Jews out.
  • Revolt ended

    Revolt ended
    The Revolt ended. Only 56,065 Jews remained in the Ghettos. They were all captured. 7,000 were deported to the Treblinka Killing Centre. The rest of the Jews were sent to labour camps and the Majdanek Camp.
