President Madison Takes Office
Tension was very high with britian at the time president Madison took office. Americans were mad at Great Britian for arming the Native Americans in the north west. Americans were very mad at the continued impressment of American sailors by the British. -
War Hawks Take Power
War Hawks wanted war with Great Britian. John C.Calhoun of south Caralina and Henery Clay of Kentucky became leaders of the House of Representatives there suporters were War Hawks.But many belived war with Britian would affect trade. -
