    Declaration of Independence
    On 4th July, 1776, the colonies declared independence from Great Britain. Their leaders published the Declaration of Independence on this date. Then, the fighting started. The colonists, led by George Washington, fought many long, difficult battles. In the end, they defeated the Bristish and signed the Treaty of Paris in 1783. They called their new nation the United States of America (USA).
  • Assassination of John F. Kennedy.

    On 22nd November, 1963, Kennedy and his wife,Jaqueline, went to Dalas, Texas. Many people were on the streets to see the President's car pass. Suddenly somebody fired at Kennedy and he fell forward. The car hurried the injured president to hospital. Sadly, President Kennedy died a short time later and the entire nation was shocked.

    This event took place on a 11 September, 2001, when Islamic extremists hijacked 4 commercial passenger jets and flew them into major American landmarks. Their sole intent was an indiscriminate mass murder.
    The first two hijacked planes were crashed against the Twin Towers.
    The third hijacked plane was crashed against the Pentagon, that is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense in Virginia.
    The fourth hijacked plane was crashed against the open field after lost control.
