First Treaty Between Cherokee and United States, established Peaceful Relations
For the first means of action towards making peace with the Indians the United States established a treaty between them. -

This program's main purpose was to sho wthe Indians that we wanted to ensure constant peace and harmony with eachother. -
First major Cherokee Migration to land wast of the Mississipi
This migration was necessary to having the later conflict between Indians and Whites. -
Andrew Jackson elected President and declares his support for Removal
Andrew Jackson didn't like the Indians and felt they were a threat to our livliehood. -
Georgia extended it's state power over Cherokee Nation and Nullified Cherokee Law
This was the Government's way of making the Cherokee even more unaccepted. -
Treaty of New Echota signed;provided for removal of Cherokees to land west of Mississspi
This Treaty created great conflict later and was what really finalized the Cherokee's position. -
United States Government sends 7,000 troops to force Cherokees out of Bayonet Point
Nearly 4,000 Cherokee died there due to hunger,disease, and cold on thier way to a new land hence the name Trail of Tears.
