Since the Mexicans won the battle, the loss of this battle further added to the drive for Texas independence. General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna's Mexican army and the 200 men in the Texas army led by James Bowie and William Travis were involved in this event. It took place on February 23, 1836. -

William B. Travis' letter was a request for more help and it also is about encouraging Texas to not give up. This kept Texans determined to win Texas independence. Travis and the Texans and the Mexicans were involved in this event. It took place on February 24, 1836. -
