The Treaty of Velasco
The Treaty of Velasco was signed by Interim President Burnet and Santa Anna. The treaty had a public part and a secret part. The public part brought an end to the war and provided that all Mexican Armies would move south of the Rio Grande. In the secret treaty, Santa Anna promised to use his influence to get the government of Mexico to accept the public part of the treaty and get Mexico to recognize the independence of Texas with a boundary at the Rio Grande. -
