Mier y Teran Report
The Fredonian rebellion alerted the Mexican government and they reacted by sending general Mier y Teran, an investigator to Texas. While he was visiting Texas, the Anglos sent a report to the Mexican government notifying that they were not following the rules and they tried to encourage the Mexican and European settlers to move. Around that time the Mexican government sent a law to end slavery in Mexico. Texans started to fear that slavery was going to be abolished in Texas.
