    OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ACT
    The Official Languages Act is a link to the Official Languages of Canada in sections 16-22 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This act made English and French Canadas' official languages which are treated as equals and neither of them have higher respect than the other. This act also allowed all individuals to have their own identities and follow there culture.
  • INDIGENOUS SUFFERAGE

    INDIGENOUS SUFFERAGE
    Part 11 35(2) of the Canadian constitution is where the Indigenous Suffrage act falls. This act was about the First Nations getting more rights that allowed them to vote. Before this act Indigenous Peoples were unable to vote because they couldn't meet the "requirements" such as owning their own land. After their rights were put into play they could regain the ownership of their land therefore allowing them to act in any type of election. This played a huge part in their collective identity.

    In section 15 of protecting women's rights in the constitution it is law that every gender is treated equally. This is very important for each individuals identity and without equality in genders our economy would be years back from where it is. Treating everyone equally also allows for a safer and healthier society.

    In section 2-23 in the criminal code is the anti-terrorism act. The anti-terrorism act was a great step because it provided new investigative tools which helped to insure all Canadians safety. It also made sure that anyone who tried to harm multiple were caught and had the proper punishment. This act was every helpful to everyone's identity because it kept Canadians safe so they could continue finding their identity.

    The NO FLY LIST violates many parts of the constitution such as equality rights and mobility rights. This is because it gives people many opportunities to be bias towards certain races. The no fly list can be beneficial to everyone because it keeps them safe from terrorism or terrorist activities.
