Bleeding Kansas was a national conflict against free staters and slavery owners. -
John Brown
Brown and 21 of his followers attacked and occupied the federal arsenal in Harpers Ferry. Their goal was to capture supplies and use them to arm a slave rebellion. Brown was captured during the raid and later hanged, but not before becoming an anti-slavery icon. -
Lincolns election
The election that Lincoln won, was a success for the north and a blow for the south, because lincoln did not believe in slavery but wasnt going to mess with it right away. -
The 13th Admendment was passed
The thirteenth amendment was first passed and it was put in the contstitution making the abolition of slavery a law.
