Proclamation Line of 1763
Proclamation colonists couldn't move west of the Appalachian Mountins. They were worried about conflicts with the Native Americans. -
Sugar Act
Britain placed a tax on sugar, molasses, and other products. -

Colonists had to pay tax for letters, newpapers, playing cards, and marriage papers. -
Quartering Act
colonists has to let troops stay at their house. -
Townshend Acts
Put import tax on glass, paper, lead, paint, and tea. they suspended the NY assembly until NY agreed to provide housing for troops. -
Boston Massacre
when kids starting teasing a soldier, fighting broke out and a kid yelled "fore I dare you!" and the soldiers fired killing 3 people including Crispus Attucks. -
Tea Act
Britain wanted to prove they had the right to tax the colonists. Colonists could only buy British tea and pay a tax. -
Committee of Correspondence
meeting and talking about how to respond to British policies. It was helped founded by Samuel Adams. -
Boston Tea Party
Men dressed as Mohawk Native Americans boarded three ships. they destroyed 342 chests of tea by throwing them overboard. -
Intolerable Acts
acts were passed to punish Boston. they wanted to send a message that Britain was in control. Boston Harbor was closed and town meetings were shut down. -
1st Continental Congress
a group of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies that met early in the the American Revolution in Philadelphia, Pensylvania. -
Lexington and Concord
when British soldiers were sent to take away the colonists weapons they find an untrained and angry militia. when the militia beats the troop of 700 they are confident in the American Revolution. The first shot was called "The Shot Heard Around the World" -
2nd Continental Congress
The thirteen colonies met and decided they wanted to leave Britain. They wrote the draft of the Declaration of Independence. -
Declaration of Independance
George Washington, John Adams, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and many more signed the Declaration of Independence to say they were "breaking up" with Britain.
