  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament. The new tax was for all American colonists. It was a requirement for them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Things that were taxed was ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards (History.org). The colonists found this offensive because the England wanted to rise money without getting approval from the colonists
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    Mob of colonist forming around a small British group. The colonist were mad about having to much red coats in Boston and how much the tax prices are.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act was passed by the British Parliament. This act gave company the right to ship it's tea directly to the colonies without going to England.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    On the night of December 16, a group called Sons of Liberty. These men dressed up like Mohawk Indians. They boarded three ships that was docked on Boston Harbor. These ships belonged to British. They threw out boxes of tea into the oceans. They threw out 90,00 pounds of tea into the ocean.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts was made after the Boston Tea Party. This act was passed by the British Parliament. This act was made for the colonists who lived in Massachusetts because of the tea party.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was formed by all the colonies expect for Georgia. They all met up to organize colonial resistance of Parliament's Coercive Acts.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The battle of Lexington and Concord was the kick off for the American Revolutionary War. On the night of April 18, hundreds of red coats were marching their way to Concord. A sound that signaled the militiamen to gather to cross with the red coats. The fight started at Lexington and soon enough the British retreated.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress was brought together after the American Revolutionary War had began. This was a group of colonists who protested taxation without representation.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was the first formal statement by nation's people asserting their right to choose their own government. The American colonists have been fighting for their independence. Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin were the three out of five men who was tasked with drafting a formal statement of colonies intentions. July 4 is the day where we celebrate the birth of American independence.
  • French Alliance during the American Revolution

    During the American Revolution, the American colonist were having a hard time with fighting the British troops and they needed more support fighting against the British. They decided to join forces with France. Both representatives governments signed the Treaty of Alliance and the Treaty of Alliance of Amity and Commerce.
