First direct tax imposed on the British colonies in North America, it was passed by the British Parliament. -
Stamp Act was repealed
People were outraged with all the wealth and money was tried to be taken away from all the colonies. The lawyer and the other people with wealth and high position suffered the most and made the British repeal the act, this was a big step on separating from the British. -
The townshend act
It was another way of making money and seeing the potential of taxes on the American colonies, the British imposed a series of acts named after Charles Town shed. The British started taxing various foods and other necessities, prohibiting justice and possible development of freedom within the colonies. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident between the British and their soldiers and a crowd of colonists in Boston, Massachusetts. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of 70 men boarded on three ships, British ships and Boston harbor and threw their tea cargo in the sea, which was a protest against the tea act. This led to the American War of Independence. -
First Continental Congress
Delegates from each of the 13 colonies except for Georgia met in Philadelphia to organize colonial resistance to Parliaments Coercive Acts. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The British Governor of Massachusetts sent several troops to seize the colonists military stores at concord. Their intentions were to discover the Patriot colonists who decided to prevent the British from carrying out there plan. -
The bunker Hill battle
It was a battle involving a lot of casualties, it taught the British to not engage in direct assault. The official winner of the battle was British but the colonists used this as a moral boost. -
Adoption of Declaration of Independence
The second continental congress adopted the declaration of independence which proclaimed the 13 colonies as independent. Britain was not willing to give up the North America colonies.
