The Space Race ended with a U.S victory, by Neil Armstrong being the first person to walk on the Moon. Sadly, John F. Kennedy was assassinated though by a gunshot. -

An Astronaut named Alan Shepard became the first Astronaut to ever play golf on the Moon. People think he still left a golf ball on the Moon. -

Animal Mayhem 1962-1965
Soviet Cosmonauts launched their first dogs into space. They thought they would be a good fit because Moscow dogs are very obedient. Then later, the American Astronauts launched their first monkeys into space and they were smarter than they thought. -

Astronautical tradition
On April 12, 1961 Yuri Gargarin, started a tradition in which he asked a bus driver to stop on the route to the Launchpad, and urinated on the Right had tyre of the bus. This became a tradition for all Astronauts. -

Space Race has begun
The Cold War caused the Space Race between the U.S.S.R and the U.S, and the goal was to get the most superior technology. They also wanted to land Americans on the Moon, before the Soviets. -

"Astro" vs. "Cosmo" 1950-1959
Nasa in the 1950s had an ongoing argument between Astronauts, and Cosmonauts. They later used the term “Cosmonauts” to call Soviet Astronauts.
