This is when Japan turned just a small incident to a terrible war. The Chinese lost badly just because Japans military were far more skilled and brutal than they were. German Blitzkrieg
The German forces tried out the blitzkrieg in Poland before successfully using it with invasions of Belgium and France in 1940.They used armored columns that were known as panzer divisions. It was also used by German commander Erwin Rommel during the North African campain. It was really just a military tatic made to create disorganization through enenmy forces using concentrated firepower. Operation Barbarossa
Hitler had three German army groups strike Russia by surprise. Even though Russia was bigger, they were eventually defeated by the Germans who destroyed 1,000 soviet aircrafts. This let the Germans penetrate up to 300 miles into the Russina territory which only took a couple days. It happened because Hitler was convienced that England was holding out against German assults and feared he would be crushed by the East and the West."History.com" -
Pearl Harbor

More than 2,000 Americans had died because of how many ships were sunk or damaged. It made the Americans very mad so they declared war on Japan the same day which brought them into World War 2. The fifteen high ranking Nazi party and German government officials gathered at a villa in the Berlin suberb to discuss the implementation of what was called the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question". The Bataan Death March
This happened shortly after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Many of the Filipinos and Americans that had surrendered were rounded up by the Japanese to march 65 miles to prison camps. Many of them died because the Japanese treated them badly, starved, or were just too weak to walk."History.com" -

This battle greatly destroyed Japan's navel strength when they caught Japan completely by surprise and the Americans destroyed four of its aircraft carriers. D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
This battle was codenamed operation overlord where 156,000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along the Normandy region. The Allies made a campain designed to mislead the Germans about the invasion target. And by the time springtime came around the Allies had defeated the Germans. Battle of Iwo Jima
This was an American invasion that was caused because Japan wanted a place where B-29 bombers could land without having to return to the Marianas. It was defended by at least 20,000 people from the army and navy. Many of the Japanesse fought from different caves and tunnels that were very hard to find and destroy. Battle Of Okinawa
This battle was fought on the Ryukyu islands of Okinawa and was the largest assult in the Pacific war. This was a very fierce battle between the U.S and Japan. The Allied forces wanted to capture an island near Japan so it could serve as a base for air operations in support of the invasion of the Home islands. This is when Great Britain and the United States celebrate victory in Europe. Many of them put out flags and banners where they are celebrating that Germany was finally defeated. Dropping Of The Atomic Bombs
The United States was the first and only nation to actually use atomic weapons when the war was still going on by dropping an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Although it did finally end World War 2, people still think that it might have caused a start in the Cold War. Hitler wanted to split the allied armies by having a surprise attack. Many American units wern't prepared and fought desperately to stop the German advances.
