The Earth begins to go into fall as the earth tilts away from the sun. It is in September the sun shines equally on the north (top) and south (bottom) ends of the earth. This means it's Fall in Utah -

The Earth begins to tilt toward the Sun again in the spring. In March like in September, there is equal Sunlight in the North and South end of the Earth. It's Spring in Utah -
Summer
It is at this time that the North end of the Earth is tilted toward the Sun. This means the north gets more direct sunlight. That means it's Summer in Utah. -
