Proclamation of 1763
The purpose of the proclamation was to organize Great Britain's new North American empire and to stabilize relationships with the native americans. The colonies were very upset since their were people already settled beyond that line and people who had land claims past it. -

Sugar Act
This act lowered molasis tax that was being imported. After this act the colonists felt that their rights were being violated. -
Currency Act
This act prohibited the issue of any new bills. The colonists protested. Also, there became a trade deficit with Britain. -
Stamp act
This act caused all printed material from newspapers to pamphlets to be taxed. The colonists responded by protesting and boycotting. -
Stamp act congress
This was when delagates met to discuss the stamp act. They declared that the colonies could not be taxed except by their own assemblies. The colonists kept on refusing to use the stamp and boycott. -
Quartering Act
This act forced the coloniststo pay for housin British troops and to also pay for food. This act convinced the colonists that they needed to do something -
Declaratory Act
This act stated the parliment had the right to make decisions for the British colonies in all cases. The colonists protested agaist it and were very upset about it. -
Townsend Acts
In this act british leaders tried to avoid some of the problems the stamp act caused by passing a set of laws. The only thing the colonists could do was bring back the boycott which worked even better this time.
