  • Albany Plan of Union

    Albany Plan of Union
    The British Board of Trade called meeting to talk about colonial trade and the fear of French and Native American attacking. Ben Franklin had plan that there was annual congress of 13 delegates. The representatives that attend to the meeting agreed with it but the Crown did not agree.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    A law that requires a tax stamp on legal document, newspapers, and certain documents. Parliament decided to to cancel the act but the tention still mounted. This lead to roits and colonists completely not obeying the laws
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The colonists started boycotting of English goods. British troops were sent to calm down a jeering crowd. The British troops opened fire on the crowd and killed five colonists.. Which is called the Boston Massacre.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A group of colonists disguised as Native Americans boarded three tea ships in the Boston Harbor. They broke open the all the cargo and dump it into the sea. They did this to protest against the British control of the tea trade.

    The Declaration of Independence
    Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston and Thomas Jefferson where the group named to come a prepare a promclamation to independence. Jefferson did most of the work wtih this document.
  • Articles of Confederation

    Articles of Confederation
    For 17 months the Congress debated to unit the former colonies. This confederation established "a firm league of friendship" among the States.
