    Washington struck the first blow against the French. He was admired everywhere for doing so!

    The Treaty of Paris was signed by Paris. This is what officially ended the Seven Year War.

    Proclamation Line
    The proclamation line was made for the purpose of stopping colonists from moving past the Applachian Mountains. It was mostly ignored.

    Sugar Act
    Great Britain taxed merchants of goods that were imported. The merchants were upset and smuggled goods in instead.

    Stamp Act
    This required all legal and commercial documentation to have a stamp. Many objects were presented and it was repealed in 1766.

    Quartering Act
    This act said that any British soldier had the rigth to stay in any house and the owner had to provide food and housing. Many people were angry.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act said that Parliament could raise taxes in any cases. The colonists protested whenever they could.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    June 15–July 2, 1767 is how long it lasted. This act taxed goods that were imported and prevented smuggling with a new guard. Colonists were very upset because of the increase in taxes.

    The Boston Massacre took place on a street. It was some British Soldiers vs a few colonists. This was teh very beginning that led to the campaigning.

    To remove taxes from the British East Inida Company and cut out American tea merchants, the American tea merchants dumped 342 chests of tea in the both Boston Harbor in form of protest.

    The Sons of Liberty protested by dumping 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. They were upset because they were being cut from sales.

    These acts were made in response to the Boston Tea Party. It said town meetings could only be held once a year. Most felt the acts were harsh.

    September 5 - October 26, 1774 is when it went along. This was a meeting with twelve people. Each from one of the thirteen colonies. They discussed what needed to be done for the American Revolution.

    The French Alliance lasted from 1775-1787. This was a treaty that allied France with America. This promised the French to help and assist.

    The Second Continental Congress was basically the same as the first one with the exception that this one started in teh summer. It also took place after the American Revolutionary War began.

    The Declaration of Independence stated what King George III did wrong and then told him what they demanded. They demanded freedom from his rule. This was a very big risk for the people who wrote it.

    Burgoyne surrenders in Saratoga. This is what brought the French to openly join America.

    The Articles of Confederation was the first constitution for the United States. It was used until the actual constitution was put into place.

    This iis where the American Continental Army spent the winter during the war. It was very difficult and many perished.

    British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered. This took place in Yorktown. The British ships that were expected to come for help never showed.

    Shay's Rebllion took place from 1786-1787. The Shay's Rebellion was multiple protests. They were against taxes and the government.

    This lasted from May 25 - September 17, 1787. This addressed teh weakness of the government. It's purposew as to amend the Articles of Confederation.

    Northwest Ordinance
    This was also known as the Freedom Ordinance. It was to allow moving beyond the Appalachian Mountains.

    The U.S. constintution was adopted and signed. IT was ratified by nine of the thirteen states.

    George Washington was elected first president because of his past accomplishments and involvement with the revolution. He was admired everywehre and had great courage.

    Ten of the twelve amendments were added to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is just amendments.
