British troops in boston killed colonists in the streets over the colonists throwing things at them.

Boston Tea Party

Dec 16, 1773

Colonists snuck onto a ship carrying tea at night and threw it all into the water. Done due to the Tea Tax.

Intolerable Acts

Apr 1, 1774

A series of acts used as punishment for the boston tea party.

Battles of Lexington and Concord

Apr 19, 1775

First shots of the revolution were fired. British came to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock and destroy wepons stored in Concord

Battle of Bunker Hill

Jun 17, 1775

The battle took place on Breeds hill and while the Americans Lost the position they lost less men and stood there ground for a very long time.

Battle of Long Island

Aug 27, 1776

British troops crushed the Americans and forced them to evacuate to New York.

Battle of Trenton

Dec 26, 1776

Sneak attack on the day after Christmas. American soldires crossed the Delaware River to get to trenton and attack unsuspecting Hessians who were tired and unfocused due to the partys from the night before.

Battle of Saratoga

Oct 7, 1777

Turning point in the revolution where the French sent ships and Soldiers to the Americans after General Burgoyne surrendered at Saratoga.

Battle of Yorktown

Sep 28, 1781

French and American troops lead by Rochambeau and George Washington respectivly blocked the York river with French ships so the British troops lead by Cornwallis could not escape and could not get reinforements.
