    They came from Germany and Scandinavia in 5th Century. They colonised northwards and westwards, pushing the Celts to the fringes of Britain

    In 1215 with the signing of the Magna Carta feudalism began its slow decline.
    Magna Carta= a document which limited the power of the sovereign in favour of the barons.

    Henry VIII

    Henry VIII
    Henry VIII, grained fame for his six marriages in search of a male heir. When the Pope didn’t allow him to divorce and remarry, Henry split with the Catholic Church and had Parliament appoint him Head of the Protestant Church of England.

    Elizabeth I
    Henry VIII’s daughter, ascended the throne in 1558 and reigned until 1603. Her reign was the most glorious era for Britain, with colonization, explorations, victory in war ecc.
