Chapter One
At the beginning of the Outsiders, Ponyboy describes himself. He has light brown hair, almost red, and he has greenish eyes. He identifies himself as a greaser. They don't identify themselves as The Socs. He can't see a movie with someone because he feels uncomfortable. He has a second oldest brother named Soda who is sixteen almost seventeen. His oldest brother Darrel who they call Darry works a lot so that he can take care of them. -
Chapter Two
Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy sneak into the Nightly Drive In. To get in its only 25 cents if you aren't in a car. They have the money to pay the entrance but Dally decides to break the rules because he likes doing that. There are seats in the front for those who don't have a car. There are only two girls sitting there. -
Chapter three
They meet the girls and they tell them their names. Their names are Cherry and Marcia. They don't have a ride home so they agree for two-bit to give them a ride to the West side of town. Its about 20 miles away. As they are walking to Two-Bit's house, Pony sees that the girls are thinking of them as the Greasers when they are the same. -
Chapter four
Ponyboy and Johnny decide to go for a walk two miles away from the park. They come up to a water fountain and a little kid pool. The fountain is working but the little kid pool isn't because its about to fall. The Socs jump Johnny and Ponyboy. They are drowning Ponyboy's face in the fountain. Johnny doesn't like it so he gets his knife out and stabs one of the Socs. -
Chapter Five
The next morning at the church, Ponyboy finds a note from Johnny that said that he was going to town to go get more supplies. When Johnny gets back he brings a week's of baloney and some cancer sticks. He also gets a paper copy of a book named "Gone With The Wild". He wants Ponyboy to read it. -
Chapter Six
The next week, Johnny and Ponyboy hide at the church while reading Gone With The Wild. They are smoking and eating sandwhiches. Ponyboy and Johnny admire the gentlement from the southern in Gone With The Wind. Johnny tells Ponyboy that it reminds him of Dally, But Ponyboy disagrees. He prefers the other greasers to Dally -
Chapter Seven
While all the three brothers wait to see how Dally and Johnny are doing, the reporters and the fuzz go to the hospital to talk to them. Ponyboy wasn't feeling good. For him, since they keep asking questions its not helping him. Darry make the reporters and the fuzz to go and leave Ponyboy alone. -
Chapter Eight
The nurses don't let Ponyboy and Two-Bit see Johnny. The doctors told the nurses that they should let them in. Johnny tells Ponyboy that he is scared to die because he is too young to die. Pony tells Johnny that he won't die. Than the nurse goes in and tells Johnny that his mom is her to visit him. But he doesn't want to seem her because he thinks that she is going to tell him stuff. Johnny turns pale and passes out. -
Chapter Nine
Ponyboy gets home at 6:30 like always. They only have 30 minutes before the rumble starts. Pony can barelt eat so he takes 5 aspirins. He takes 5 because he has a headache and because that would help him with the rumble. Darry doesn't know if its a good idea for Johnny to fight because he has been through a lot this past week. Pony doesn't want to fight the Socs but he has to because he need to do it for Johnny. -
Chapter 10
Dally leaves the car and Ponyboy walks around. He want's to make himself think that Johnny isn't dead. Someone stops and asks Ponyboy if he was okay. He tells him that he was in the rumble. -
Chapter Eleven
Ponyboy has to take bed rest for one week because he had a concussion. Ponyboy says that he killed Bob and he still thinks Johnny is alive. Darry tells Randy that he needed to leave. -
Chapter Twelve
Ponyboy doesn't know what to say after hearing everything that has happened. After the hearing Ponyboy is unattached and he becomes depressed. His grades are lowering and he looses he memory and appetite.He resumes his fighting with Darry. -
