Ponyboy was attacked by the Socs.
A group of Greasers came to rescue him, including Sodapop, Darry, Two-bit, Steve, Dally, and Johnny. They like a big family. Darry and Soda are Pony's brothers, forming a family without parents. Ponyboy has bad relatonships with Darry, but he likes Soda very much. It is important because it introduced most of the main characters in the book, and it shows the relationships between Greaser and Social. -

In the cinema they met two Socs' girls named Cherry and Marcia. Dally did something offensive to the girls that made them angry. However, Ponyboy and Cherry had a delightful conversation. It is important brcause it is the begining of the story, it is the initial cause of everything. It also introduced another important character, Cherry. -
After they finished the movie, the Greasers met Cherry's boyfriend, Bob.

After they saw the movie, Ponyboy, Johnny, and the two girls went out the theater, and they met Cherry's boyfriend Bob and a few other Socs. They had a conflict but didn't fight because of Cherry didn't like fights. The Socs went away. It is the indrodcution of everything that would happen in the future. It is also shows the reader about the discrimination to the Greeasers that the author wanted to show in the book. -
Johnny killed Bob.
When they was walking in the park, they met a group of Socs, including Bob. They had a fight and the Socs put Pony's head into the fountain that he almost drowning. Ponyboy thought he would die. However, when he woke up, Johnny told him that he stabbed Bob with a knife and Bob was died. This is where the story begin to change . The conflict between the two groups become more serious. -
Ponyboy and Johnny decided to find Dally for help.
Pony and Johnny found Dally and asked him for help. Dally said Johnny did a great job, and he gave Pony dry clothes.Dally told them what to do and where to hide. He gave them some money and a gun, and asked them to run.This shows the love between the Greasers. Although Dally is cold and bad, but he cares about his bubby,too. -
Ponyboy and Johnny escaped from the town.
They escaped to church by train, and hidden in an old church on the top of Jay Mountain. Johnny bought enough food and a book named "Gone with the Wind" to Ponyboy. This plot is the rising action of the story , it provides conditon what would happen in the future.It shows the kindness in Ponyboy's heart. -
At around 2 a.m. in the morning, Pony went back home. Darry and Pony had an argument, and then Pony ran out of their house.
Darry and Ponyboy had an argument because Pony came home late. Darry bit Soda and Pony. Pony couldn't stand Darry anymore, and Pony was sad so he ran out of the house to find Johnny. It is the beginning of the conflict between Ponyboy and Darry. This is another main theme that the author wanted to tell in the book. -

Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally saved some children in the church.
Dally went to the church to find Ponyboy and Johnny, and took them to a store. When they went out, they found the church with some children in it was on fire. They went to rescue those children, Dally also helped them to save the children. Finally, they were badly hurt by the fire, they became the hero and were praised on the newspaper. The story goes to the climax here. -

It suggest the ending of Johnny and Dally. It shows the kindness of Johnny, Ponyboy, and even Dally. The happening of the rescue let the public see the good part of the Greasers. The stereotype of the Greasers in their mind was changed. -
Darry ,Pony and Soda were on good terms.
At the hospital, Pony saw Soda and Darry, Darry was crying and said sorry to Ponyboy. They were on good terms again. It is the turning point of the relationship between Pony and Darry. We can see the Darry's brotherly love to Ponyboy. -
Randy had a conversation with Ponyboy.
On their way home, a Socs called Randy talked to Ponyboy and they had a conversation.Randy said he didn't want to join in the rumble.And he also taiked about something about Bob. From this conversation,Ponyboy had a new realization about Bob, he knew the real problem between Socs and Greasers. He knew that Socs are also people who have their own annoyance. Ponyboy started to break the stereotypes for the Socs. -
Ponyboy and Two-bit went to see Johnny and Dally.
Johhny was in a bad condition.He said that 16 years is not enough for him,he wanted to live longer.Dally wss not in a good mood.They all had a feeling that Johnny couldn't get over it,Johnny would die soon.Johnny knew,too. It dropped a hint about Johnny death.Dally's anger also suggest that he might commit suicide after Johnny's death. -
The rumble between Greasers and Socs took place at 7 p.m. Johnny died.
While they are fighting,Ponyboy got cerebral concussion.Dally left the hospital to take part in this fight.Greasers finally won.Dally took Ponyboy to the hospital to tell Johnny this good news. Johnny died. This is the main reason of Dally's death. The story will gradually approach the ending now. -
After Johnny's death, Dally died.
Dally was so sad that can't stand this misery, he robbed a grocery on purpose,made poloiceman kill him.Ponyboy fell in faint . This plot is the start of the falling action of the novel. We can see the love between Dally and Johnny from here, Dally isn't a person without any emotions. -

Randy came to visit Ponyboy.
Pony cannot stand the death of Johnny and Dally. He kept telling himself that they didn't die. Randy went to visit him, he told Randy that it was him who killed Bob, not Johnny, and Johnny did not die. Pony love Johnny, he didn't want him to die as a murderer, he wanted Johnny to die as a hero. He wanted to protect Johnny's reputation. -
Ponyboy went to the court.
They went to the court, the judge asked some questions to Pony, Cherry, and some other person. They all told the fact. The judge decided that Pony was innocent. Besides, Pony and Soda did not need to send to the Boy's home since the doctor told the judge the fact. It is the basic condition made Ponyboy can live with Soda and Darry. From now on, the story goes to the falling action of the novel. -

Ponyboy and Darry had a quarrel again.
Pony was influenced by these series things that can't concentrate on his study, a quarrel caused between Ponyboy and Darry again. Soda can't stand it anymore so that he run out their home. They decided that they will not wrangle again. By these thing, they knew Soda's misery.It is the ending of the three brothers. They can rely on each other forever. -
Pony started to do his assignment.
After they went home, Pony found Johnny's letter and read it, recalling. He decided to write something to help others who have same experience as them. Pony used all things he had experienced as the topic of the essay. The Outsiders is the essay he wrote. He wanted to tell more people about it. This is the main purpose why he decided to write this book. He wanted to help more people see the hope. It's the resolution of the whole novel.
