Maybe his strict personality lead some big trouble, such as Ponyboy was away from their home. Or like Dally is a “rude boy”, not sensible, he had been arrested, he got drunk, he rode in rodeos, lied, cheated, stole, rolled drunks, jumped small kids. These personality cause his dead that after he use a gun to robbed a shop without bullet. Etc.) -
Major character
First, at the beginning of the book, writer introduced the main characters of the book, introduce their life, it’s not plot, but is it “plot”. (Why our group think it is important, because these different personalities lead the whole book’s progress, like Darry, their big brother, 20, who is very mature, tough, cool, and smart, and got hit with a lot of responsibilities after their parents died, so he need take care of his families and every Greasers. -
Ponyboy was hi-jacked by Socs
Plus, Ponyboy was hi-jacked by Socs. (This event make Greasers and Socs’ relationship became worsen, too many events happen will cause a big fight each other in the future.) -

If they didn’t go to watch movie, they probably don’t know who Cherry is, and probably can’t meet Cherry’s boyfriend, and get another trouble, everything in this book, we regard it as butterfly effect, every “butterfly” can cause a “tornado”. -
First met Randy&Bob
Two Soc’s members find them, they noticed their girlfriends played with Greasers, then became very angry. Greaser’s members’ chaos with Soc’s members. They try to threaten and beat each other, and there is a clue—a knife, which Greaser need to carry to defense be robbed. (They have a chaos, mightily both of them are very angry and want to avenge.) -
Ponyboy&Johnny Went to the park
Ponyboy and Johnny outside and lay on the timber, they fell in sleep not on mention. Then Ponyboy went to home late, Darry was worry about him, and they quarreled, even Darry slap Ponyboy when Ponyboy was crying, then Ponyboy run out of his house,went to park with Johnny and come across a trouble.(You know…Darry is an“irritable” boy… so this personalitywill bother Ponyboy…) -
Johnny had killed Bob
A blue Mustang came to Ponyboy and Johnny slowly, 5 Soc’s were coming to them, Randy swore at them, then David (a Socs) shoved Ponyboy’s face into the fountain, Ponyboy was going to dead if Johnny didn’t kill a Greaser, when Ponyboy wake upthey realize they encounter a big trouble---Johnny killed Bob. (They killed bob, it’s a big turning point of them. You know, anyone killed people will be sentenced, maybe will be shot, or be imprison. They don’t want, so they have to escape from cops.) -
They decided to escape
Johnny decided to escape, so, they decided to go to talk about Dally about this things, they want Dally give them some idea, then Dally told them to take a train go to another place to avoid this, and the church have a pump back, they don’t worried about water. They met a sunburned farmer driving a tractor down the road, and asked him how to go to the church.(Dally gave them a choice and they accepted it, so they changed their life unintentionally, they find church, then happen a lot.) -

Dally decided to see movie with Greaser members. Dally not only put his feet up on the back of Cherry’s chair, but he also said rude word to Soc’s girls. Johnny couldn’t bear it, he told Dally don’t do that. Dally was angry and leaved. So, Cheery talked with Johnny a lot, which let Cherry known about Ponyboy. -
Ponyboy first met Cherry
Cherry had a talk with Ponyboy, and she think it’s not money separate Greasers and Soc’s, Greaser are more emotional, and have different set of values, but Soc’s are sophisticated. Plus, they talked about Darry, and Greaser’s family. (Why this part is important, because in the whole book writer have a main idea that is tell the reader money cannot isolate kind and evil. Also, they change their mind know each other more, that is why Cherry help Greaser in the future.) -
To bleach hair.
Ponyboy began miss his family and Greaser, Johnny bought many food to keep them alive in this recent days, also he bought a peroxide to bleach Ponyboy’s hair. (Maybe they don’t made this decision they will be starved to death or be captured by the police.) -
Watched dawn, and thought a lot.
They recall their memories which they were staying home, with Greaser members. They talk a lot, also they watched dawn, think a lot. (It’s very important point in this book, because they think more about their life after killed a person. Ponyboy said “Nothing Gold can say.” And remember a poem, because this poem enlighten, Johnny thought more, he thought the poem write his life, write his meant. ) -
Fire Fighting(1)
When they finished their foods, they went pass a firing house, it is a school. There still had some kid in the firing house, Ponyboy rushed into the firing house and Johnny followed him soon. They saved every kid, Dally stood out of the house to help them. However, Dally cannot save Johnny. Johnny cannot escape, the building was collapse by the fire. -

(Ponyboy decided to secure these kids because his brave personality; however Johnny cannot escape form that firing house, he have a broken back. They are brave, but this behavior not sensible idea, it lead Johnny’s death. That is why I think personality is the most important thing in the whole book, different characteristic can lead different life. -

Brave, decisive, loyal, fearless, those personality lead diversity result of a person, like Johnny his personality let him to save those children, and it’s a turning point for Johnny, for Ponyboy, for every Greaser. An important person’s death let Ponyboy think a lot of their entire life. So that he can write down these book.) -
Dally came to saw them.
When they were sleeping, Dally come to see them, and brought a letter which write by Sodapop. Soda tried to persuade Ponyboy and Johnny to surrender themselves. (Ponyboy love Sodapop more than others, it will let Ponyboy to consider if he go to surrender.) Then Dally carried them up in the car went to ate something. (If they don’t go they will probably stay, or never go to the firing building.) -

They talked a lot, it will change Ponyboy’s mind, Ponyboy must think a lot about what thing is useless and what he should to do.) -
Ponyboy first time talk to Randy(1)
Randy don't believed that Greaser can save kids’ life, and told Ponyboy he will not go to rumble tonight. He think rumble is useless. Even Greaser whip Socs, they still at the bottom in social. They talk lot each other, Ponyboy told him Greaser also is person, they can do as much things as common people done, they also can save kids, do correct thing that everybody can do. -
Johnny's illness has taken a turn for the worse.
Johnny’s illness has taken a turn for the worse, he blame his mother, and didn't want to see his mother any more, even his mother came to see him. Dally make up his mind to win that rumble that night. (Every Greasers must very dispirited about Johnny. So it arouse Greasers’ battle of wits accidentally. If Johnny weren't critically ill, maybe Greaser don't fight for rumble rigidly.) -
The second time Cherry have talk with Ponyboy.
Cherry was sitting in her Corvette by the vacant lot when Ponyboy came by. They talked about Bob and Randy. It’s seem they not so bad that Ponyboy thought before. Also, Cherry told Ponyboy, he is a good boy. (Every time, talk can change people’s mind.) -
Rumble(1)
They went to rumble. Rumble make Ponyboy injured. When Dally and Ponyboy were on Tenth, a siren came on behind them. Dally wanted to avoid trouble told Ponyboy pretend sick. Then with the siren ahead of Ponyboy and Dally, they made record time getting to the hospital. -
Rumble(2)
(If they don't meet that policeman they will not go the hospital, probably the will go home and received a letter or voice that Johnny was gone. Dally don't go out to rob a store, Greaser will comfort each other to relive Dally’s from his heart.) -
Johnny dead(1)
When they came to the hospital they told Johnny they win the battle. However Johnny thought is useless, then Johnny dead. -
Johnny dead(2)
“come on, Johnny, don't die on me now.” At this moment Dally inward thought or felling are complex, he can't bear Johnny died in his front. He must blame himself why he didn't go into that firing school before Johnny. Dally is crying even he is “strong”, he want to give full vent to his sorrow and despair. Plus, Ponyboy inside must change a lot, in this recent days, Ponyboy has been told rumble is useless by three person. -
Johnny dead(3)
One is Randy who think rumble is useless, Greaser cannot “win” the battle even they win, they still in the bottom in today society. Another one is Cherry, she thought Ponyboy is a good boy, after Bob’s dead, she share her thinking to Ponyboy. Last person is Johnny who was going to dead, and who is the most important person in Ponyboy and Greasers’ mind. It will make Ponyboy think a lot what thing is useful and what thing is useless. It boosted Ponyboy get more mature than before.) -
Dally dead
Ponyboy told Greasers Johnny has gone, told them Dally couldn't take it, he's going to blow. After few minutes, the phone rang. They were told by Dally had robbed a grocery store, cops were after him. All Greasers left the house at a dead run. When they were reached the vacant lot, Dally raised gun point the cops. Finally, Dally was shot by policeman, soon he died. (Ponyboy because one night he lose two brothers who he loved so much. Death make Ponyboy think more about life's value.) -
Second time Randy talked with Ponyboy(1)
Randy came to visit Ponyboy few days later. He told Ponyboy they will coming meeting with judge, and Ponyboy need to face this problem. (Ponyboy can’t to face this problem directly, because he think Johnny still alive in the world. Johnny killed Bob just because self-defense, He dead like a hero who saved those kid in the firing school. -
Second time Randy talked with Ponyboy(2)
But Dally, a Greaser, a bad guy, who was shot by the policeman, weather he help Ponyboy and Johnny to save that kids. It is not fair for Dally, Ponyboy might think about that, about life’s value.) -
Ponyboy was acquitted.
They were in the court and Ponyboy was acquitted. (It's important that Ponyboy was acquitted. He was free.) -
Soda run away form thier house
Ponyboy and Darry had a quarreled at dinner time. It was the fourth time they argue with each other in a week. Ponyboy didn’t realized that Sodapop was in depress, so he asked Sodapop to support him but Sodapop ran away instead. (When Sodapop run away from his house, Ponyboy and Dally after him to caught him. They stuck together, and have heart-to-heart talk each other, Dally realize his fault, Soda like a lubricant additive, to connect them heart.) -
Ponyboy foun the letter.
Ponyboy found a letter inside of <Gone with wind> .The letter worte by Johnny.(Pony boy thought a lot, and read Johnny's mind. ) -
Wrote novel
A teacher came to told Ponyboy if he wrote a finall dissertation he will get a "C" in finall, so Ponyboy decieded to wrote down his story about "THE OUTSIDERS".
