The number of people that can be succesfully integrated
If a litle island like Tilos can support 12 families, then the prefecture of Kozani could support at least 15000 refugees (10% of the population of the Prefecture) -
Accomodation
Kozani where we live in is a small town, but that doesn't mean we dont have places where refugees can live at. We can use some of the unused camps and abandoned buildings, since we have loads of those here in Kozani, that have open spaces, so kids can run around in, and have enough room to set up portakabins for them to sleep in. And lastly, we can provide them with sugestions or opportynities, so that they can feel usefull and wellcomed in our country. -
The kind of entrepreneurship that can be developed
There are a lot of kinds of entrepreneurship that can be developed. By way of illustration, we can provide job offers to the refugees at our local bakeries and super markets, depending on their profession. Also, we could give them jobs in different factories, wich have a shortage of workers. To sum up, we could help by finding them even one-day jobs, just so they could get some supplies, if there are no available jobs. -
The ways schools can help
Students, teachers and parents can gather food and other necessities, like books which are no longer needed and school stuff we don't use anymore in general. Moreover, they can organize events to welcome young people to the school. Last but not least, to make refugees feel even more welcomed, students can offer help to their new classmates with their homework. In that way, they could bond and make friendships. -
The potential benefits for local community.
There are loads of ways that refugees can strengthen our community with. To give an instance refugees can boost the local economy by being consumers to local shops, establish new businesses and provide new and in many cases specialized workforce. In conclusion, refugees and the local people of Kozani will burn midnight oil in how to combine forces, creating a better result in economy, because "Teamwork makes the Dream work".
