Skipping forward a few years to something that took over the internet, is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. This was a challenge where people were attempting to raise money and awareness for ALS. The challenge was done by dumping a bucket of ice cold water on your head, and challenging others to do the same. I remember participating in this and seeing it all over. -

This is one that is still continuing and was huge in the year 2020 as well. But the # Black Lives Matter was created to bring awareness to and fight racial injustice in America. It became one of the biggest trending hashtags, and is still trending regularly to this day -

The pandemic that changed the way we live..This was huge. Everyone was stuck inside, and we lost a lot of our interaction with each other. Social Media was how people were finding out new information and keeping up with how their friends and family were coping with quarantine.
