    The Opium war was between Britain and China. Britain wanted to continue selling China opium in order to make them more vuknerable to attack. China demanded Britain to stop selling them opium, and so the war began.

    The Boxers were the Chinese. They wanted to get rid of the Japaese and Europeans. Their rebellion was not successful and it cost them.

    The Civil Service Exams came to an end because people were cheating and bribing others to take the exam for them. Higher classes believed their children did not have to take the exam because they were born into a higher class.

    The last emperor of the Qing Dynasty was Xuanton. he was a very powerful ruler until 1912.
  • Fall of the Qing Dynasty

    Once Xuantong was gone, the new governenment became corrupt and the militay was weak. Hidden societies that were underground defeated the Qing Dynasty in 1911.
