    Mexican president Porfirio Díaz is best known for creating a strong centralized state during his term. Considered a dictator by some, Díaz is a figure in Mexican history. Historians claim that he controlled the media and controlled the court system, managing to keep his people in a constant state of uncertainty while controlling all aspects of the government from his seat.

    Madero won the presidential election and took theoath of office. Madero was slow getting started, insisting the hacienda owners be compensated for the land lost and loses liberal support. He was also pressured by conservatives by being against buisness. Madero raises the tax on oil companies to pay for education, angering American ambassador Henry Lane Wilson.

    Government claims that the bodyguards were forced to murder Madero and the Vice President José María Pino Suárez, during a failed rescue attempt. But instead, Huerta demanded the murders. Huerta turns in Madero's brother Gustavo over to Diaz's men,who murder him.

    a politician and rancher from Coahuila, he was forefront in the attack and debate against Huerta, calling his forces the Constitutionalists, with the support of the United Sttes. On March 26, 1913, Carranza would go on to issued the Plan de Guadalupe, which refused to recognize Huerta as the president and called for war between the two factions.

    800 American soilders and marines land at Veracruz.Snipers open fire on Americans, 4 Americans would end up being killed at this battle. 400 more Americans were sent ashore.Eventually 3,300 sailors and 2,000 marines land. Sniper fire continues.126 Mexicans and 17 Americans killed.Resentment against Americans grows in Mexico.Arms and supplies from Germany to Huerta cut off.

    Battle of Zacatecas Toma de Zacatecas
    This was one of the most bloodiest battles in the revolution. Pancho Villa's División defeated the troops of General Luís Medina Barrón for the town of Zacatecas. The great victory destoyed Huerta's supporters, leading to his resignation on July 15. Mexico. Kept under house arrest in El Paso till his death in 1916.

    Obregon army of 6,000 soilders,5,000 infantry has a victory over Villa's 20,000 man army.Villa would end up losing 4,000 men in frontal cavalry attacks on Obregon's trenches ,barbed wire and machine guns. 6.000 prisoners would be taken. Villia's 19th century tactics do not go well against Obregon's 20th century trench warfare methods.

    Villas would end of murdering19,500 horsemen and killing 6,000 cavalry against Obregon's 9,400 cavalry and 14,500 infantry. Obregon lost his right arm to shellfire.Hill would end up capturing him. Villa's forces were persistent in their assaults.Villa has obtained 8,000 causalities.

    An estimated 2 million are thought to have died as a result of the Revolution. This was one of the most important battles of the revolution.

    Veracruz, took national treasury ( an estimated 5 million in gold and silver) and an abundant amount of followers.A train would end up crashing into the lead train,killing 200. Carranza would then retreat with 100 followers. Meets guerrilla leader Rodolfo Herrero who professes loyalty, but murders him while he is sleeping.
