The Maori were quite alike the First Nations of Canada, they hunted, they fished they gathered plants etc. What they gathered and hunted very different than what the First Nations, they hunted (the now extinct) moa, seals, kiwis, and multipull -
Where the Maori Live?
The Maori have a shorter human history of any other country. Where they came from is a matter of debate it wasn't until 1642 that the Europeans new it existed. but what I did find was just in and around the New Zealand and Australia area -
Treaty Making.
Queen Victoria signed a treaty with nearly 500 Maori cheifs through out the counttry, this treaty was called the Waitangi Treaty. -
Resedential Schools.
The Native Schools Act of 1867 was a major shift in policy. Rather than helping churches to rebuild mission schools after the wars, the government offered secular, state-controlled, primary schools to Māori communities who petitioned for them. -
Interacting with the Environment.
They still interact with the land in close to the same way they did back then, they still hunt, they still gather plants and they still practice their own beleifs. -
Affect the Future.
Buush fires, cyclones, and droughts will affect where they live and how they live like how they eat or how much water they use.
