The players were banned from the MLB. This relates to Gatsby because they talk about Gatsby's aquaintance who rigged this world series. -

The U.S. prohibited the manufacturing and sales of Alchohol. This relates to the novel by during this time people would have to illegally make their own alcohol for partie,etc. Gatsby's job was selling illegal liquor to make money. -

Due to the 19th ammendmant, women were given the right to vote. This was the start of "flappers". For example, Jordan Baker was a carefree women throughtout the book. This would have not been the case before the 19th ammendment. -
