Opening scene
Exposition 1) Ted is living in Thneedvile. There are no natural resource that are free like water, air, or even dirt. -
Ted sends his model plane into Audrey's yard
Exposition 2) Ted sends his model plane into Audrey's yard on purpose and Audrey takes him into her backyard. She shows him her love of trees and how she wants one. Audrey also say's that she would probably marry any man who had one one sight. Rising Action 1) Ted decides to get a tree for her. -
Finding out about the Onceler
Rising Action 2) Ted asks his Grandma about where he can find a real tree. Grandma tells him to talk to the Onceler -
Ted leaves city to find the Onceler
Rising Action 3)Ted leaves the town of Thneedvile to find the Onceler. Ted's Grandma tells him to bring five cent, a nail, and the shell of a great grandfather snail. He does finds all of this and goes to find the Onceler's house -
Ted finds the Oncelers house
Rising Action 4) Ted finds the Onceler's house. He goes to ring the door bell on the porch of the house but finds that it is a house. Then, A light in a window that is surrounded by boards appears. A green house appear and asks him what he wants. Ted explain that he has the payment that is required. 5 cent, a nail, and the shell of a great grandfather snail. -
The Onceler tells his story
Rising action of Onceler's story 1) The Onceler starts tell his starts to tell his story. He explains that he is the reason all the trees are gone. He has a flashback of how it started. He came to this place looking for the perfect material for his thneed -
Onceler finds all the trufalla trees
Rising action of Onceler's story 2) Onceler finds all the trufalla tree and decides that this is the perfect material for his thneed. He begins to cut down a trufalla tree -
The Lorax appears
Rising action of Onceler's story 3) The Onceler finishes cutting down a truffalla tree when lightning comes down and hits the stump of the tree. The Lorax pops out of the stump. -
The Lorax talks to the Onceler
Rising action of Onceler's story 4) The Lorax and the animals start to pile rocks around the stump. When they finish. The Lorax talks to the Onceler and say,"I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees. And I'd like to say a few words if you please." The Lorax tries to get the Onceler to go away but the Onceler wants to stay. -
Into the river
Rising action of Onceler's story 5) The Lorax and the animals try to get the Onceler to go away by floating him down the river. It all goes smoothly until the Lorax sees that the Onceler is holding onto a bear. Bear waves to the Lorax. -
The Onceler is saved
Climax of the Onceler's story 1) The Lorax sends a boulder into the river which send the bed out of the water. The Onceler needs his heart to start going so the Lorax uses two bears to shock him. The Onceler is explained to that the Lorax put his bed in the water. -
The creatures stay the night
Climax of the Onceler's story 2) The Lorax and the other animals stay the night at the Onceler's place and when he wakes up, he finds them everywhere. The Lorax tells him he should leave and stop cutting trees but the Onceler decides to make one thneed. -
Thneed is success
Climax of the Onceler's story 3) The Lorax thinks that the thneed is stupid and no one will buy it. The Onceler tries his luck. A thneed is made and the Onceler goes to a town to try and sell it. It does not sell and when he tries to throw it away, it lands on a girls head and everyone thinks that the thneed is cool. -
The people want more
Climax of the Onceler's story 4) The people travel to the Onceler and convince him that they need more. The Onceler forget his promise to the Lorax and makes more thneeds. -
The last truffala tree falls.
Climax of the Onceler's story 5)The Onceler makes factories to get more production. The Lorax tries to warn him about what will happen. Rivers are contaminated, the air is smog. Then, the last truffala tree falls. The animals leave. The Lorax grabs the top of his fur and lefts himself away, leaving a stone saying unless -
Ted goes back
Climax of whole story 1) Ted goes back to the town of Thneedvile. He realizes what he has been living in. All things are electronic and you have to pay for. Everything is watched. He decides to go back to the Onceler and find out how to get a tree to grow. He goes on the roofs of houses to get over the wall that surrounds the city. -
Unless
Falling action of Onceler story 1) The Onceler finishes his story and what the Lorax left. He points to the stone that says unless and says, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not." -
The last seed of a truffala tree
Falling action of the Onceler's story 2) The Onceler thinks that Ted is the only one who can change things. He gives Ted the last seed. Climax of whole story 2) Ted goes back to tell his Grandma about the seed he gets. When Ted decides that he needs to learn more from the Onceler, Mr. O'hare catch him and say he is never to leave town. Ted realizes there are hidden cameras all over town that monitor everyone. -
Mr. O'Hare finds out about seed.
Climax 3)Mr. O'Hare finds out that Ted has a seed in his possession. He wants it destroyed but Ted gets a shovel and a bucket of water with the seed to plant the tree. He spills a little water on the seed while he is leaving though. -
Mr.O'Hare comes
Climax 4) Mr.O'Hare and his body guards burst into Ted's house and demand the seed. Ted acts like he does not know what they are talking about but Mr.O'Hare says that they are watching. He leaves. Climax 4) Ted looks for the seed he had but can not find it. He goes down stairs to find his Grandma looking at the seed that has sprouted because of the water. He takes the seed over to Audrey's to show her. They decide that they should plant it in the middle of the town for everyone to see. -
Chasing the wrong person and planting the seed
Climax 5)Mr.O'Hare hears that the seed is in Ted possession and chases his mom's car. Ted is not in the car but on a motor scooter with Audrey and his Grandma. They get the seed to the middle of the town -
Ted and Audrey get the city to side with them
Falling action 1)The trio arrives safely but realizes that there is no dirt. Ted get a bulldozer and knocks of the head of Mr.O'Hare statue. The head falls and dirt shows on the ground. Climax 6) Mr.O'Hare arrives and tries to convince the people in the city that trees are bad. He lists all the negative things about trees. Audrey lists all the positive things like free air. Ted knock down the wall surrounding the town to show the people -
The town sides with Ted
Falling Action 2)The town realizes what Mr.O'Hare has been doing with making them pay for air. Mr.O'Hare stills to kill the tree but the people want the tree. They strap a jet pack to Mr.O'Hare and celebrate the tree. Ted has gotten the tree and Audrey. -
End of the story
Resolution)All the animals come back and so does the Lorax comes down. The Onceler comes out. Everyone celebrates that the trees are back and Ted has saved them.
