    The Khmer empire was established by Jayavarman II in the country now called cambodia. Jayavarman II unifies the smaller states of the empire to the create one massive capital of the empire in Angkor.

    Buddhism came to the Khmer empire from India. There are 3 main types of buddhism being Theravada, Mahayana and Zen. Mahayana was the the main buddhist teaching in the Khmer empire. Even though Jayavarman II wasn’t buddhist he still aloud the practise to stay in the empire

    Hinduism became very popular in the Khmer empire because of what the religion stood for. The Hinduism class system was very like as it put all the citizens into a category according to the family they were born into. The major temples in the empire were dedicated to Hindu God.

    The Khmers relocate because there is a new king and he doesn’t want the capital to be something that another king built and also because he wanted to do something big so he would be remember as a great king.

    The Vietnamese Attacked the Khmer empire as they were a high profile target and they were also getting to strong and powerful.
