  • Katniss Everdeen is born

    Katniss is born in district 12. This district specialises in coal mining

  • Katniss volunteers for The Hunger Games

    Katniss' sister, Primrose Everdeen, is chosen to be the female tribute for district 12, but Katniss volunteers for her sister. Now Katniss is the female tribute. The male tribute is Peeta Mellark

  • Katniss says goodbye

    Katniss is allowed to see her friends and family one more time before she leaves. Madge gives her the mockingjay pin.

  • Katniss remembers Peeta

    After Peeta's name is drawn, she gets a flashback of him. Katniss' family was starving so she was out looking for food. Peeta, who's parents own a bakery, threw two loaves of bread at Katniss with the risk of getting beaten.

  • The tributes arrive at the Capitol

    After Haymitch agrees to help Katniss and Peeta to survive the Hunger Games, they arrive at the beautifull Capitol where many are gathered to see the tributes.

  • The opening ceremonie

    Katniss meets her stylist, Cinna, for the first time.District 12 represents coal mining. They wear an outfit that uses synthetic fire. Cinna also tells them to hold hands and the crowd seems to love them.

  • Training Center

    Katniss and the other tributes arrive at the training center. Here, they learn how to survive in the arena. Later on, right before the games, the tributes have to show their main skill to the gamemakers. Katniss' speciality is a bow.

  • The scores

    After the private session with the gamemakers, Katniss is afraid she will get punished for what she has done. Peeta gets a score of 8 and surprisingly Katniss gets a score of 11.

  • Peeta wants to train separately

    Peeta tells Haymitch he wants to be trained separatly, so without Katniss. Katniss feels betrayed by Peeta, but she tries to hide these feelings in order to get sponsers.

  • The interview

    The tributes have to do an interview. Haymitch tries to make Katniss more likeable, but he does not succeed in this. Peeta says, in different words, that he is in love with Katniss. Katniss is angry. Haymitch explains that it will result in more sponsers.

  • Entering the arena

    All the tributes are moved to the arena in hovercraft. They are injected with a tracker device. Before Katniss enters the arena, Cinna gives her some advice and puts the mockingjay pin on her. Now she enters the arena.

  • Entering the arena (part 2)

    The tributes have to wait 60 seconds before they can get off the platforms. Haymitch's advice is to run and find water, but Katniss doesn't do this. She later on sees a group of tributes, they kill everyone who gets in their way. Peeta is one of them.

  • The fire

    Katniss wakes up and there is a huge fire, she has to run away. She gets hit by a fireball and jumps in a pond. She stays here for the night. She wakes up at the voices of the careers and starts running. She climbs in a tree and the careers wait.

  • The wasp nest

    Katniss spots a little girl. She is pointing at a wasp nest. Katniss cuts it down, but realises she received medication from Haymitch. The next day she finally cuts it down and 2 people get killed. Katniss is stung aswell while she was trying to cut the nest down. She starts to hallucinate while she tries to grab the bow.

  • Rue from district 11

    When the venom from the wasps has worn off, Katniss goes out to hunt. She meets Rue. They make a plan to blow up the Career's foodsupply.

  • Rue's death

    After Katniss blew up the food supply, she heads back to find Rue. She hears Rue screaming. She is caught in a net. When Katniss reaches her, Rue gets a spear pierced through her body and dies. Katniss is furious and she kills the boy.

  • Announcement

    An announcement is made: this year, two people from the same district can win. That means there is a possibility for Katniss and Peeta to get out of the arena alive. She heads out to find Peeta,

  • Finding Peeta

    Katniss finds Peeta. He is hurt. Katniss tries to help him, but the wound does not heal very well. She wants to get the medicine. He does not want her to go alone, but she goes anyway. She gets in a fight with Clove but Thresh, district 11, helps Katniss. She runs back and gives Peeta the medicine.

  • Only three left

    Only Cato, Katniss and Peeta are left. Cato grabs Peeta and threatens to kill him. Katniss manages to shoot Cato and he gets attacked by beasts that look like wolves. The next morning, Katniss shoots Cato with an arrow to end his misery

  • Together

    Only Katniss and Peeta are left. The gamemakers make another announcement. Only one person can be the winner. Peeta orders Katniss to kill him. Katniss refuses and shows Peeta the nightlock berries. When they want to eat the berries, the gamemaker tells them to stop and announces the winners of the 74th Hunger Games.

  • The beginning of the end

    After the Games they were separated. Katniss asks if Peeta is alive. She is happy to hear that he is still alive. When they return to district 12, Haymitch says the Capitol is angry. Katniss has to keep pretending to be in love, although Peeta doesn't know that. He was angry when he found out she was just pretending. She knew she was losing him.
