WHAT:- It was a conflict between KMT and CPC, where KMT was supported by the USA and the CPC by the USSR.
WHY:- USA wanted to build a coalition government that would include all of the contending military groups in China but no group wanted to compromise. This led to a war.
SIGNIFICANCE:-
1) led to a partition between China and Taiwan
2) portrayed the rivalry between US and USSR -

Around this time, my paternal grandfather used to live in Sindh, Pakistan. However, after the partition, he moved to India and he lost his father in the process. -
